Émilie Magnan is a Belgian visual artist who graduated from the Drawing department at La Cambre in Brussels.
From the very beginning, her practice has been drawn to the human body. Overall, her works convey a sense of restrained softness and suggest intimate narratives. Through her portraits, she explores themes such as motherhood, childhood, and human solidarity, capturing moments imbued with comfort and calm, while subtle unsettling elements—such as ambiguous settings or the equivocal play of gazes—deepen the potential readings of the drawings.
Her collective portraits highlight solidarity and tenderness between figures, while sensuality emerges on an individual level.
