Camille Coléon develops a sculptural and performative practice that questions the Anthropocene and material culture through a rather sensitive approach to the environment. Trained in sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, after studying at the Beaux-Arts in Nantes and the Ateliers de Sèvres in Paris, she also furthered her research in the anthropology of art and material culture at the ULB as part of a master's degree.
Her work explores the effects of time, gravity, and the invisible physical on everyday objects through construction protocols and installations that are mostly designed in direct relation to the exhibition space. The resulting forms, often fragile and destined for transformation, inscribe the exhibition space in a logic of construction, disappearance, and renewal.
