Born in 1992, Barbara Salomé Felgenhauer lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She is an artist-researcher whose practice combines photography, film, installation, and performance.
Within her ecofeminist laboratory “J'ai rêvé l'obscur” (I dreamed of darkness), she develops a multifaceted artistic and political approach, driven by the idea that in order to inhabit the world differently, we must describe it differently. Drawing on cross-disciplinary research in history, sociology, and philosophy through the lens of gender, she explores the links between the body and the earth through collective and sensory forms: performances, encounters, and participatory devices inspired by ecofeminist thought.
A graduate of ESA Saint-Luc in Liège and ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels, where she obtained a master's degree in photography with high distinction and the Boghossian Foundation Prize in 2022, her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Europe and North America.
She is currently pursuing a master's degree specializing in gender studies and is furthering her research on the intersections between spirituality, ecofeminism, and political engagement.
