Antonin Gerson is a contemporary artist and exhibition curator based in Brussels. Trained at the Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Nantes (DNSEP with honors, 2016; DNAP with distinction in performance, 2014) and at the Conservatoire de Nantes, he has developed a practice centered on sound and image.
His approach explores the military uses of sound, physical phenomena such as white noise, and the singularities or absurdities of society. He creates fictional and immersive environments through installations composed of sounds, photographs, videos, screen prints, and performances. Objects such as cables, microphones, speakers, and metronomes thus become both raw materials and scenographic elements, drawing the viewer's attention to the auditory experience.
For Antonin Gerson, the exhibition is a medium: each piece can exist on its own, but together they form a single installation. His work therefore involves collaboration with scientists, acousticians, and various professionals, while drawing inspiration from scientific and military methodologies to document and archive his creative processes.
